No Fare Hikes

Back in 2003, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) raised fares on New York City buses and tolls on the Verrazano Bridge. Now, just a few years later, the MTA is once again proposing more increases.

I have fought the toll and fare hikes in the past, and I am once again leading the charge against them now.  The MTA should not be forcing hard-working Staten Island and Brooklyn commuters to pay more for sub-par service that is inferior compared to the rest of the city. I recently sent a letter to the MTA declaring my opposition to any plan to raise bus fares and bridge tolls. I have also started an online petition for my Brooklyn constituents to share their thoughts with the MTA on this important issue.

Here are a couple of ways you can get involved:

Join your friends and neighbors and sign the online petition.

Attend the MTA's public meeting on their proposals -

Monday, November 5th

6:00 PM

Marriot at Brooklyn Bridge

Grand Ballroom

333 Adams Street, Brooklyn

I also encourage you to sign up for my e-newsletter to get additional updates on the MTA's proposals
